Who We Are
Heritage Building and Repair is headed by Sander Hooijschuur. Trained by his father Cees, who worked as a site manager in the Netherlands, Sander has become an expert builder and craftsman. Based in Exeter, perfectly located to service mid and south Devon and Dartmoor.
We specialise in the repair and conservation of traditional, historic ( pre 1919) and listed buildings, which are a fundamental part of our culture and heritage.

As highly skilled craftsmen we specialise in the repair of heritage and listed buildings.
Our philosophy stems from the SPAB approach which is ‘conservative repair’ in opposition to ‘restoration’. A good repair deals quietly and modestly with a problem but tackles the underlying issue.
At the heart of Heritage Building and Repair lies stonemasonry, lime pointing, lime plastering/rendering, carpentry and joinery.
In addition we work with trusted and highly skilled subcontractors ie. roofers, electricians, plumbers, scaffolders to ensure the highest standard possible.
We have public liability cover of £5,000,000 on all of our sites.
